A cold, delicate hand grabs yours and pulls. It pulls, and it pulls... there's a sense of urgency in this icy grasp, as well as a trace of reluctance. Abruptly the hand let's go, right as your vision fades to black, and for a brief moment, only a brief moment, your senses disappear. There's only the eerie sensation of weightlessness before your feet are settled back on solid ground again.

Okay, no, no ghosts... though something is definitely watching you.

The chilling darkness leads into a larger room that's also dark and musty, much like the hall, but this time this darkness, this coldness—it's denser. Along the perimeter of this entry room sit small piles of rubble in a strangely organized mess. The floor boards beneath your feet creak loudly, too. Located to the immediate right of you is a decrepit fireplace.

But hey, you're interested in heading up the stairs, right? Just remember there's a few more creepy paths leading elsewhere down here, like the dark halls or the creepily lit room ahead.

By the way, the staircase leads into darkness. And those stairs look old and like they're going to break. ~surprise.~
