[ okay half-twisting away from that, though he doesn't manage to get entirely out of the way, trying to force Hail away from Sion by pushing the fight closer to the tree ]

The closer you get to the tree, the louder that internal screaming, the one that makes no sense, gets, and though Janta seems rattled, this Zwei-look-alike doesn't seem affected by this at all.

"Just give up! I... I really will kill you if I have to."

[Manages to get to his feet again, going for the candles while Naoto keeps Hail distracted.]

Why? Why go through so much trouble just to stay unhappy?

[ once they're far enough from Sion that he's not in immediate danger, pulling back and striking— aiming for the knife in her right hand, so he can knock it away ]

The candles are tall, and despite the chilling breeze they haven't fallen over or anything. How nice!

Back to you, though. The knife flies out of her hand, but she seems unphased by this action.

"This is what she deserves. Because... this is how it is."

[Cool, grabbing a few if he can and heading back to the tree where his stabbed boyfriend is fighting.]

Who cares about 'deserves'? She can have a nice life, so she should. No giving up.

[ trying to pin her to the tree, though not putting his full weight into the lunge, just in case weapons go right through like bodies do ]

Against the tree she goes, almost putting no effort into resisting this. A branch catches her hood and pulls it aside, revealing a pair of desperately sad eyes.

"She can't...!"

[ quick glance at Sion, shakes his head just a little (no burno yet I'm pretty close to this here tree) and back to sad Hail ]

Yes, she can. But our first step is that we have to get rid of this tree.

[Yes you sure are. Setting the candles down to hover.]

Naoto's right. She can, she will. Let us help.

"This tree stays. I did not tell her to plant this for no reason."

What was the reason, then?

[ GLANCES BACK AT SION then kind of flicks his eyes up at the jantalimb in the tree branches, before putting his gaze back to sadHail ]

[Oh goody. Climbing the horror tree.]

[Nods and edges around the two of them, touching the tree to try to get a handhold, braced for the hurtyourself feelings at least.]

"Because the seed belonged out here. I provided guidance. That's all."

She's either failing to notice Sion or blatantly ignoring him. It's hard to say when her hopeless eyes are this focused on yours, Naoto.

And Sion, you will get those wonderful hurtyourself feelings, but if you can keep focus you can climb to the very branch with the dangling limb.

... That's dumb. I keep asking you why and the only excuse you can come up with is 'because'? 'Because it has to be'? 'Because it belonged out here'? All that says to me is that you don't have an excuse.

[Pretty good at just stoic-ing through literally anything so. Ignoring that (but wow it's uncomfortable to want to hurt yourself, new feelings he's never wanted to know!!) and gets to the Janta limb.]

As you grab that limb, and as you respond to her excuses, the sadHail disappears.

Just like that, she's gone into thin air, the pained expression she last wore burned into your vision for a few seconds.

All that's left is the screaming of the nonsensical voices, coming from that damned tree. Unless you're Sion, who is touching said tree.

[I have no idea what that was about but I am pretty sure as a Di[e]ce character I can just jump down without injuring myself because I don't want to touch the tree any longer than I have to.]
