BASICALLY, Emil feels really, really awful for having done that to her. He knows he fucked up, and he doesn't think he deserves even her friendship anymore... but he couldn't, at the same time, deny his feelings for Marta, and throw them aside when she's trapped in the book, a fact that he blames himself for as well... So. This was always destined to be a wreck when he decided to date her!
And he likes her, he likes her a lot, and he wants to help her in any way that he can. But, unfortunately, not in the way that he told Echo he would. So... he's guilty as hell, and he would gladly take any sort of punishment that she decided to dish out to him, if she did. Because.

I'M NOT EVEN SURE, Echo is going to be so awkward, I can't even imagine it
she might just ask for a drop of blood and a tear, what else do you say after you've had your heart broken just like that—
oh she would probably apologize for being stupid! actually, she would do this. SHE HONESTLY THINKS IT'S HER FAULT, THIS IS A THING I NEGLECTED TO MENTION. Echo thinks it was her own mistake for loving him and thinking she could have a future with him—it's not his fault he has a relatively nice-ish life back home with friends and a gf!! Nothing in her life has gone right, so she thinks she's stupid for even THINKING she could have a relationship and a future with him! S-so far nobody has been able to convince Echo out of this, because she feels like she has ALL OF THE PROOF.
so yes, she would approach him with an apology and the request for blood and a tear and maybe be on her way, i can be ure friend from afar dear emil

I DON'T KNOW, TO BE HONEST. Sometimes it's hard for me to pin Emil down because I'm essentially pinning down two characters, who often have wildly different reactions to things?
