A cold, delicate hand grabs yours and pulls. It pulls, and it pulls... there's a sense of urgency in this icy grasp, as well as a trace of reluctance. Abruptly the hand let's go, right as your vision fades to black, and for a brief moment, only a brief moment, your senses disappear. There's only the eerie sensation of weightlessness before your feet are settled back on solid ground again.

"Do you know what they mean?"

I don't know anything about plants.

"These plants represent great feelings and hopes. And if these plants cannot be grown within the proper confines of this heart... it means they did not belong."

"But Coping. She tried anyway. And failed. Now look at her."

[ah...]

—It doesn't mean they didn't belong! Maybe things are like this now... but just because a plant dies doesn't mean a new one can't grow in its place. And none of that's her fault, so don't talk about her like that!

Nurse Echo gives you a cold look... but she seems thoughtful.

Before she can speak up, the body on the bed begins to stir into life, slowly sitting up. She rushes to its side.

Ah...

[stopping to stare over at the bed, watching what's going on]

The girl named Coping looks just like Echo! Except she's elegantly dressed, even if that dress is torn and dirty.

Coping sits still, looking at her hands. She's staring. She looks lost.

Nurse Echo only hovers near her, on standby.

[getting up on his feet in a swift motion and coming over to hover also; he's definitely surprised and a bit confused, but tentatively hopeful]

H-Hey... You okay?

Coping only places her hands over her face and screams like bloody murder.

Nurse Echo readies a needle, then looks at you.

"Sorry. This will only take a moment."

Suddenly she takes Coping's arm and injects the needle... and Coping begins to quiet.

[well that is sure not what i was hoping for. looks alarmed at the screaming] H-Hey...! [and then also alarmed at the shot] Hey, what did you just do—?

"I am helping her."

The nurse casually walks away, leaving Coping to sit and look at her hands in a daze. She eventually looks at you.

[puts a hand on Coping Echo's shoulder]

Are you alright...? What just happened?

"I died... I—"

She sits up, and tries to stand.

"I need to go outside. Right now."

[a worried expression crosses his face for a moment—before nodding firmly and offering a hand to help her to her feet]

But you're not going alone. I'm coming too.

She studies him for a second... then takes it, finishing the climb to her feet. Her voice had urgency, but she's calmer now than she was before.

"Let's go."

[nods in response, leading the way out of the room]

Back outside you go, only... the tree's not there anymore. There's no trace of it.
