A cold, delicate hand grabs yours and pulls. It pulls, and it pulls... there's a sense of urgency in this icy grasp, as well as a trace of reluctance. Abruptly the hand let's go, right as your vision fades to black, and for a brief moment, only a brief moment, your senses disappear. There's only the eerie sensation of weightlessness before your feet are settled back on solid ground again.

She gasps. Again.

"Ah... I really did grow something earlier. B-but... it's gone, too... It was in my hand. A flower. Where is it?"

[frowns]

I—can't help with that, because I can't see, right now, but I can tell you how to grow plants, at the very least.

Give her a moment, she's sobbing.

[... follows the sound of the sobbing back to her, but using his good arm/hand, he's digging out a warm ball and holding it out.]

Hail, can you do a favor for me, and hold onto this for a little while?

She chokes back a few sobs, and tentatively takes the ball.

"W... w-what..."

[you now feel like you have been hugged and it will continue for the next five minutes

She curls up against him, a helpless mess. Coping VS coping...

"W-why can't I do anything useful?"

You can do things that are useful. I think you do, at least.

It's just that—some things try to make you not useful, and that is not cool, and that is not your fault, or anything.

"I thought I had this though..."

Sometimes things do not work out, and that is normal. But, I am going to help you fix it this time, okay? Are you willing to work with me, to do fixing things?

You can kind of feel her nod.

"I... I will try. But not if she kills me again. I cannot handle that..."

If you try, I will get in the way. I am not going to let you get killed again, by—whoever killed you. I still do not know the answer to that, though.

"...whoever it was, it wasn't Zwei. But it looked just like her. Only crueler."

Crueler than Zwei?

I will handle it, Hail. What I want you to do, is to handle the stuff that I tell you to do.

She sniffles.

"I am not Hail. I am Coping. I really never was Hail... But I will listen."

You are still part of her, and an important part of her, so, you are still Hail.

Coping is listening intently! She wipes her eyes.

"I guess... alcohol was not a good idea. After the water stopped helping, I tried to use that."

Please do not use alcohol on plants, ever. It is a bad idea, that will end badly, in most cases. Please use water, or—hug it. I will get a hug ball from Columbine for Hail, when this is done. But, please do not cope with alcohol, as a regular thing. Moderation is better, and, hugs are better no matter what, usually.

"Eh... The alcohol was helping them... at first... I guess that is a good point."

Just because it helps at first, does not mean that it will help later.

She's quiet. Maybe thoughtful.

... Do you understand what I am saying? There are better ways to do it, that involve things that are not alcohol. So, if you are going to grow things, do it without the alcohol. And, do it with a lot of hope, and love, and support, and stuff. Also, make sure the dirt is good, and that it gets water, and sun, and all of that plant-y stuff.

...she nods! She seems to understand.

"I... I see. The outdoors is great. I can do this... but. I really wanted to share the flowers with the rest of the heart. But every time I brought them in, they died..."

I am willing to bet it is because Zwei sucks, probably. Also, there are things that do need to be fixed in there, but. . .

I believe in you, and your ability to do this, Coping Hail. I want you to go kick ass, and be a badass, when it comes to your hopes, and dreams, and also with your ability to cope, because I know you can be.

"O-okay. Thank you, Tavros..."
