To sum it up, I recently remembered myself as one of the many Doldums who had been born to protect Zwei from inevitable corruption. I am the latest incarnation.

I see...What was the 'corruption' you were meant to protect her from?

The corruption of her mind caused from the contract with Doldee. Zwei lost many memories... it changed her for the worst. It was our duty all along to ensure that Zwei did not lose herself. In the end, I saved her from Doldee by abolishing her.

To go further, and to sort further confusion, as Zwei forgot her true self she also discarded fragments of herself. And I am the reflection, the collection of the things we Doldums—we Echoes—had missed about Zwei... who from here on out should go by Noise.

[glorious]

[considers for a long moment, then nods]

I see. So you existed as Zwei's...better half, in a sense.

[screwthatnoise]

Yes. In a sense. I can now confidentially say I was more like Doldee's better half.

This said... Zwei deserved better than the way I treated her here. I need to restore her to allow her to see her own memories and to allow her another chance. It is what she deserves.

My existence, Doldee, Noise's existence, my quest to restore Noise, my fate in the previous world. But to be honest... it seems like it would be harsh to explain to them that I am restoring Noise. After all that has happened...

I think if you told them what you told me, they would be understanding of it. You're doing this because you regained more information about her and decided that she is worthy of a second chance.

That is right. She deserves it just as much as I have. I just hope it does not bother them... Kise and Geysertide, that is.

I can't speak for what will bother them, but I'm sure they'll be able to set that feeling aside and give both you and Noise a chance.
