HAIL TOTALLY RESPECTS SION! He is level-headed and logical, good with advice, and he has this thing about him that makes him seem like he's always in control—not in the manipulative way at all, but in the HE KNOWS WHAT HE'S DOING way, and Hail wishes she could be a little more like that. However, after recent(/previous) developments, Hail's been feeling super down about herself and she's been wondering if declaring Sion her brother was a stupid thing or not. She thinks that going "WE CAN DO WHATEVER WE WANT SO LET'S BE SIBLINGS!!" might have been a mistake, because... SION DESERVES A BETTER SISTER THAN HER! He clearly does. Echo won't call it off, because even she likes the idea of having Sion as a brother and would really like to have him as her family, but she'll feel bad that she just gave Sion a shitty sister when he deserves someone who isn't at least planning on killing herself after she gets out of Aather.

Hail's also wondering if she should ask Sion about the whole Gara thing, considering that's her teammate(s) AND her brother involved, and she doesn't WANT conflict anywhere if she can help it. Gara gave her the OK, so she might poke Sion about that later anyway.

Hail is actually quite fond of Turquoise! Like, she's comfortable with them now, and I think part of it had to do with the old Vincent Plot stigma. LIKE, IT'S ALMOST CLEAR AND GONE! None of these Turqs (aside from Katou) had anything to do with it, they all seem to care for Hail and openly dislike Zwei (which is reassuring!) and... she's grateful!! For this!! SHE GENUINELY LIKES ALL OF THE DUMB BOYS (TO VARYING DEGREES)! She likes doing dumb things with them and she wants to help Turquoise and help them to be happy. As someone who's at her lowest, Hail knows how awful it feels and just wants to keep everyone she cares about, especially Turquoise, AWAY from feeling as miserable as this. no precious babies stay happy :(

Oh, and she doesn't want to lose Turq either. Whether a Persona swipes them away for a long time, or a booking happens, or darkness grabs, or even if they're just going back home. Losing teammates is a thing Hail accepts, but finds... sad. It's nothing obsessive, and it's not really bothering her, but it sort of sits in the back of her mind that she's going to lose these teammates someday no matter what. So while she's comfortable with Turquoise, she's also afraid of getting too close and getting news that they're going/gone one day. Also the fact that she intends to take her life when SHE leaves, so, there's that playing a role, too.

I can't make u a pie chart but HE LOVES ECHO??? She is like, his favourite, he trusts her the most out of anyone on the team! She's KIND OF EASY TO READ which is comforting, she's not emotionally volatile, she's calm and sensible, and he would (... as demonstrated) murder teams for her straight-up. FIRST IMPRESSION AND STUFF

Hail is not sure what to make of Kise because it's all confusingly nice?! Here is someone she's only talked to, like, once, and sure he's a teammate's teammate, but he is suddenly inquiring about what's bothering her and being encouraging and providing his own input that is neither off-putting nor offensive, and offering to take her on dates?! What are you doing, Peach, do you even realize what kind of failure you're talking to and offering to spend time with?! It's funny, DATES HOLD A BIG MEANING TO HAIL, but she's toning the meaning down to 'Peach is hanging out with me and doing fun things with me' because r l y. There is no way anyone could possibly mean ~dating~ sincerely get out.

Also he's actually getting reactions out of her. The girl who has been feeling dead inside is actually flustered and touched and intrigued. Oh, AND HE'S ACTUALLY MAKING HER INTERESTED IN DOING THINGS! Th-that's huge, actually. Like for example, partaking in hobbies, and the karaoke room, and even more dates. Kise actually has Hail convinced she should try to enjoy life a little in Aather, too.

And though she's also looking forward to future things, there is also this pessimistic part of her that believes he's going to forget everything he's said, not because she doesn't believe him, but because that is her life. And though Kise discouraged her from looking at things like that (he said it in a way that made her want to take it to heart), she can't help but think that THIS IS HER LIFE, OF COURSE SHE WILL BE DISAPPOINTED AND HURT IN THE END.

It comforted Hail when Bart joined her in the pillow pile and drank with her! But now she is mostly worried about him, because him feeling like a dead weight to the team is NOT how she wants him to feel. She wants to help him incredibly, and SHE'S NOT SURE HOW TO DO THAT, but she's offering!! She still wants to get his help/help him host a turq party. We can have a drinking contest, and idk!! FUN THINGSSSS. She's concerned about his memories, though that may or may not change after I finally play in the dream?!

I'M PRETTY SURE IT'S OBVIOUS ALREADY, but Hail's starting to really doubt Van's ideals/goals, because even if it's worked for him and the Persona, it's never worked for her. She can't supply the justice Aather needs, and even if there's a way to work around it Hail's just. Given up at this point. This world is dark and cruel and it makes no sense to Hail anymore. She still looks up to Van, because his will to keep trying is admirable, but. No, she really doesn't think he'll leave a mark on this world or do anything useful to change it, because this world is messed up like that. And sadly she wants nothing to do with Aather anymore, so she is hoping he fails just so they can continue on with their suicide pact. :( IT IS SUPER SAD BUT THAT ACTUALLY... MADE HAIL FEEL BETTER, IN A WAY. To die and leave her crummy lives behind would be the best, she thinks, and she felt like someone finally understood when Van agreed to go through with it with her if he failed (WHICH, AGAIN, HAIL THINKS WILL HAPPEN.)

HAIL SPRUNG THAT QUESTION AT JUST THE RIGHT MOMENT FOR VAN TO AGREE TO IT. I mean, Van would've made the "We can die together if we fail to make the world a better place" deal anyway since offering to make suicide pacts with people under Specific Conditions is a...Van Grants-esque solution to a problem anyway. But he would've made that offer believing with absolute certainty that he could succeed in doing so.

But she made the offer after he was pressured into putting points on Sapphire by his own teammates, died, and then less than 24-hours received lectures on how he has to be more understanding of them, which made him feel as though he was being seen as the problem in that situation. And what happened, to him, happened because Red and Apple just believed that magically they could make everything better by finding a Third Option and refusing to even discuss a plan on what to do in games, even when he specifically asked for one. Which had been an issue since his very first death and that game was the ninth time he died. And four of those deaths happened in games which there were no third option, just die or have/force someone else to die in your place. And every response he got, from Sapphire, was "well, they need that hope" or "I know you don't want to die, but we can find a compromise" (with the second only later being clarified when he pressed Berry about it later, I THINK IT WAS POST-SUICIDE PACT THOUGH). And then add onto that the way Apple took his "I don't want Sapphire to play self-sacrificially" message before Jabberquest and somehow turned into her pelting snowballs at him and shouting "That's for trying to make me kill my friends!" and...basically taking "want to play to survive" into "wanting to murder other people".

BASICALLY! That game was what tipped him over into believing "My team doesn't give a damn whether I live or die" and earnestly believing that when his team used to be his 'safe place' that held him up and he just felt like they've basically abandoned him. (ALL STUFF THAT HEART GAME DEALT WITH BUT...REGARDLESS....)

WHICH GOES BACK TO HAIL and just...being so broken-hearted that she gave up on hope in the future so completely that she would rather go someplace else and die...and also not being able to fault her for it because it really is true. The world exists for other people and there are always going to be those sacrificed for the sake of everyone else -- for the sake of the 'greater good'. And while he can understand himself being made that sacrifice (it was essentially his 'role' back home, as ordained by the Score, and then he went and became a villain mostly on his own), it still upsets him that Hail suffered the way she did and couldn't find justice in it and also knowing that even if a system for justice was set up, it would be horribly corrupt and people like Hail would probably be taken advantage of in that system.

So basically he feels really terrible about the fact that he can't tell her the world is worth living in without that being a lie. And he can try and change the world to make it better but he also...doubts he can create a world where Hail would be able to live happily ~~without killing everyone else in it~~. The world he remembers and this world, Aather, were both built on the suffering of people, and those who benefit from it will never care about those who suffered for their sakes. That isn't a world worth living in.

HE'LL STILL TRY, because to him Hail is someone who has suffered enough and she deserves happiness. She's took her pain and used it to try and ensure no-one else would have to suffer like she had and yet was ground down by reality and Van just so badly wants her to be happy because if someone deserves happiness then it is Hail but he also knows that reality means...some people can never live happily, no matter how much they deserve it. So dying with her to at least ensure she doesn't die alone is the next best thing he can do, really. :(

...But he's still also really honored he'd ask her since he remembered his own suicide plans back home and how he very much wanted to spend his final moments with his most important people, so being asked to die with Hail really...made him feel important to her. And also made him believe that his life meant something to her, because nothing says "Your life matters" more than asking someone to die with you. In Van Grants-ese. '-'

JUDAI IS A GOOD FRIEND. Hail is relieved to have a friend who knows relatively little about her crummy life (or at least doesn't act like it's All There Is To Her, which isn't what many do, but STILL A POINT TO BE MADE.) She's interested in learning about the cards!! But they're really confusing. And though my chart says she thinks it's weird, she does respect his interest in them and understands that they mean a lot to him! Hail is upset at Clue. :c She is not going to give him the cold shoulder, and she's not going to go around saying mean things about him, or anything like that, but she will give him a bit more sass about things and pick up a bit more of a smartass attitude with a pinch of sarcasm and a side of disappointment around him. Basically, Clue is irritated that he let it slip how he feels about Breeze, and that Hail won't shut up about it. Which is the last thing he wants to do, but it's hard for him not to think about it in the moment.

Umm, he's bored . . . He still doesn't really want to socialize heavily, nor does he have anything to work with intellectually. So, he has five million wrenches and not one leaky pipe or something like that. It's a good metaphor, shush . . . It is really hard for him to find something to dig his teeth into, because he knows that if he spoke up about the attack that is being planned . . . Everyone would ignore him. I've always said that Vincent would be a really good bet when it came to doing anything related to destroying Personae, since he has the experience and intelligence for it, but no one really wants to engage him in that dialogue. And he strangled the last person who would even remotely listen to him, oops. The only viable option that comes highest on his list is absolutely destroying Cal in a very magnificent way, but that may get too messy for him . . . What is Vincent thinking of with Cal...

Cal thrives on affection from others, so he would probably isolate him to Siberian levels through various tactics, like winning over those who like him, forcing Cal to show his terrormonster hand, and so on. He's on Peridot though, so getting him left alone by his team would take a great feat. However, Cass has felt isolated in Peridot before so it isn't impossible. Just highly unlikely . . .

Even though Sakuya's a bird, Hail doesn't pay much mind to it. Not in the I'M BLIND TO YOUR SPECIES!!! way, but rather that she acknowledges he's a bird and whatevs he can think like a human, so. And he can play piano, that is pretty incredible. Even so, it is pretty interesting, just not something she puts focus on because he's still an individual with his own pursuits and ideas.

BUT YES, I need to pick up our thread, but so far, knowing that someone on his own team tried to kill him... this rubs Hail wrong! She would so pull a super secret vigilante JUSTICE move and deliberately bus Jasper during a game if Sakuya weren't playing. No, you don't get to try to hurt your teammate, even if it's okay now. It's like the most minuscule thing because it would only happen during a game, something even Hail doesn't take 100% seriously ('it's just a game.')

THIS ALL ASIDE, she finds Sakuya to be very trustworthy and respectable. He's a noble and he doesn't seem as terrible as the nobles she knows! He is also very knowledgeable, and even if she gets the feeling he judges her a little, she still feels pretty comfortable around him. Zwei, on the other hand, would love to maim him for speaking out to her.

HAIL... FEELS A LITTLE CONFLICTED ABOUT TRUST. It's not actually as bad as the pie chart makes it sound; it's kind of... a relief?? A tiny ray of hope?? It's kind of nice that Kuroko trusts her! But... it makes her sad that he trusts her because she hasn't given him a reason to distrust her, and that's the same reason she trusted Vincent Nightray, Mr. Use-Her-Abuse-Her. So she is really concerned for him, too?? Please don't get yourself hurt, please don't trust scary people, please. So many question marks, I'm sorry.

ON ANOTHER NOTE, Hail feels bad about how Kuroko was trying to help her and SHE JUST TURNED HIM AWAY EVERY TIME. He was just trying to do a good thing, she was being stupid, and she wants to apologize for that (in fact i may tag you just to do that.)

I... DON'T EVEN KNOW WHERE TO BEGIN, oh gosh, it's such a mess. The break-up had the misfortune of being the trigger to Hail breaking super duper badly. NOT NECESSARILY THE REASON, b-but the cause. Like pulling the last supporting block in Jenga.

yes, just like that. although it was also really super saddening on its own, i mean, every time echo's tried to fall in love she's seen her object of interest fall for someone else. SHE HAS SADLY ACCEPTED THIS AS A FACT IN HER LIFE, just like how she is hopeless and will never achieve anything or have anything good happen to her.

BUT OTHERWISE, MORE SPECIFICALLY ON EMIL... she still sees Emil as... a friend. BASICALLY, Emil feels really, really awful for having done that to her. So. This was always destined to be a wreck when he decided to date her!
